Cicirata is a wide sandy beach near Avola in the Province of Syracuse, Sicily. The beach is easily accessible and attracts numerous swimmers. The area is characterized by a free coastline with no restrictions on animal access. The bathing water area extends 200 meters south of the Troppo Pieno roundabout.

Location

Avola, Province of Syracuse, Sicily. The beach is located in an urbanized area between the Asinaro River and the Cassibile River.

Facilities

Animals are permitted in the bathing area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2010–2014). No bathing bans were in effect. The area is located in an urbanized zone with residential buildings. Cyanobacterial proliferation potential and macroalgae or phytoplankton proliferation were not reported.
