A sandy beach bathing area located in Nicotera, Calabria, in southern Italy. The beach is situated in a geomorphologically straight coastal area with sandy composition. The water body extends for 1,254 square metres and is classified as coastal waters. The area faces agricultural territories to the north of the Mesima River mouth.

Location

Nicotera, Province of Vibo Valentia, Calabria region, Italy. The bathing area is located 200 metres to the right of the Mesima River.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as poor. The area is subject to short-duration pollution events caused by runoff from agricultural areas to the north of the Mesima River mouth. No active specific mitigation measures are currently in place.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events caused by agricultural runoff. No anomalous situations have been recorded. Cyanobacterial proliferation has not occurred in the past four years. Macroalgae and phytoplankton proliferation have not been recorded in the past four years.
