Water Quality

Water quality classification: elevated (as of the 95th and 90th percentile parameters). One urban sewage treatment plant serving more than 2000 population equivalents is active in the reference municipality. No specific monitoring of pollutant concentration is currently active to limit diffusion during the bathing season. Shellfish cultivation identified as a source of impact on bathing water. A suitable modelling approach is still being developed for short-duration pollution events.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events are being studied with an adequate modelling approach still under development. The area is not subject to blooms of macroalgae and/or potentially toxic microalgae.
