A sandy beach located on the left bank of the mouth of Canal La Fara in the Lesina Lagoon. The bathing water is classified as a transition water body in the Lesina Lagoon, extending from the western shore to the locality of La Punta. The area covers 0.681 square kilometres. Water quality has been rated as excellent for the period 2017–2020.

Location

Lesina, Province of Foggia, Puglia region, Italy. The bathing area is situated on the left side of the Canal La Fara mouth within the Lesina Lagoon.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No direct wastewater discharges to sea are present. No short-duration pollution events have been recorded in the last four years. No cyanobacterial blooms have been identified. No proliferation of potentially toxic algal strains has been detected.

Risks

The mouth of Canal La Fara has been identified as a potential point source of pollution that could affect bathing water quality.
