Risks

The Palma River mouth discharges treated wastewater. Short-duration pollution events can result from accidental treatment plant failures, overflow, and urban runoff. A bathing prohibition order was issued in May 2016. No cyanobacteria proliferation potential identified. No macroalgae, phytoplankton, or potentially toxic species proliferation events recorded in the last four years.
