This bathing water area is located at the western edge of Cefalù town, extending 130 metres along the Lungomare at Piazza Colombo, beyond which bathing is prohibited. The beach features a gently sloping sandy bottom descending into the sea. The area lies near zones of high human activity but has not reported any cyanobacterial proliferation or toxic algal blooms.

Coastal waters. The bathing area extends 130 metres along the shoreline. The beach has a gently sloping gradient into the sea. The hydrographic basin is Palermo-Cefalù.

Location

Cefalù, Sicily, Italy. Located at the western beginning of the Lungomare promenade at Piazza Colombo. The responsible authority is the Municipality of Cefalù (Via Mandralisca, 5, Tel 0921923398).

Water Quality

Water quality classification is Poor for the period 2019–2024. No bathing bans are currently in place. No short-duration pollution events have been reported. No anomalous situations have been recorded in the past 8 years.

Risks

Although the area is near zones of high human activity, no cyanobacterial proliferation events have been reported. No macroalgae, phytoplankton, or potentially toxic species proliferation has been recorded.
