Location

Roma (Rome), Lazio region, Italy. Located on the Tiber River between Rio Fiume and Pratica di Mare. The bathing area spans 1,387 meters.

Facilities

Sandy beach with equipped areas and a bathing establishment. Free beach sections are available.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: elevated. The area has 25 active urban wastewater treatment plants serving populations over 2,000 person-equivalents in the municipality. At the time of the profile, no specific monitoring programs were active to measure pollutant concentrations and limit their dispersion during the bathing season.

Risks

Mollusk farming operations present. A suitable modelling approach for short-term pollution events is still under study.
