Acque Fredde is a bathing area on Lake Garda in Torri del Benaco, Veneto. The beach is oriented westward and situated at the foot of a natural spring. The beach width ranges from 0 to 5 metres. The water body has an area of 0.985 square kilometres. The bathing area is classified as excellent for water quality during the period 2021–2024.

Location

Torri del Benaco, Verona province, Veneto region, Italy. The beach is located at a natural spring locality known as Acque Fredde. Responsible authority: Comune di Torri del Benaco, Ispettorato di Porto, Guardia Costiera (telephone 1530), and ARPAV (email: oaa@arpa.veneto.it).

Water Quality

Water quality classification: excellent (years 2021–2024). EI95° 4.959; EI90° 3.809; EC95° 8.037; EC90° 5.623. Identified pollution sources include river mouths and the natural spring Acque Fredde. A consortium collector system and meteorological water conveyance pipelines are present. The Peschiera del Garda wastewater treatment plant discharges into the Mincio river in Lombardy region.

Risks

River mouths and natural spring discharge represent identified pollution sources. Numerical predictive modelling has been designated as the method for identifying pollution sources in the event of water classification downgrade.
