Austria Lake 1 - Excellent

Afritzer See, Südost is a lake in the Gegendtal valley between the slopes of Mirnock and Wöllaner Nock in Carinthia, Austria. The southwestern shore is largely undisturbed with forest extending to the water's edge, while the northeastern shore runs along the Millstätter-Bundesstraße (B 98). The lake is the remnant of a formerly larger lake divided by a rockfall.

Water

Alpine lake with a mean depth of 35 meters and maximum depth of 96 meters. Available shoreline for swimming is approximately 1.5 kilometers. The lake is strictly stratified in summer and has a water renewal time of approximately 14 years.

Location

Located in Gegendtal valley in Carinthia, Austria, between Mirnock and Wöllaner Nock mountains. The Millstätter-Bundesstraße (B 98) runs along the northeastern shore.
