Grand-Rivière municipality, Martinique. The bathing zone is located upstream of the stadium (Amont du Stade).

Water Quality

Bacteriological monitoring was conducted measuring enterococci and E. coli concentrations. Surveillance data were collected at reference stations and within the bathing zone. Short-term pollution events were documented through statistical analysis of monitoring data. The zone has been classified for bathing water quality purposes.

Risks

Identified pollution sources include urban wastewater, agricultural activities, wild livestock farming, industrial activities, and stormwater runoff. Additional risks include potential proliferation of cyanobacteria and phytoplankton, macroalgae presence, macro waste, and hydrocarbons. The site is vulnerable to flooding.
