Estuarine bathing water located at the mouth of the Aber Wrac'h estuary. The site is influenced by tidal and meteorological conditions characteristic of the Breton coast.

Location

Landéda, Finistère department, Brittany, France. Coordinates: 48.596594, -4.570473. Parking available near the beach. Access via coastal pathways and boat slips.

Water Quality

Water quality is monitored bacteriologically by regional health authority (ARS). Contamination episodes are linked to rainfall events. Historical bacteriological monitoring data available from 2007–2019.

Risks

Sensitivity to green algal blooms (échouages d'algues vertes). Risk of fecal contamination linked to rainfall and agricultural/wastewater discharge. Jellyfish and Physalia (Portuguese man o'war) occasionally wash ashore. Macro-debris present.
