Anse L'étang is a bathing beach in the commune of Trinité, located in the North Atlantic region of Martinique. The beach is situated in a semi-open environment and is fed by two ravines during rainfall. Semi-open coastal bathing zone in Martinique. Two ravines (VVF ravine and Bonneville ravine) discharge into the bathing area, particularly during rainfall. The site is influenced by easterly winds and currents.

Location

Trinité commune, North Atlantic coast of Martinique. Urban area of the VVF (holiday village) quarter is located near the beach. The bathing profile documentation is available at 51 rue Victor Hugo 97220 Trinité.

Water Quality

Type 1 bathing profile classification according to Directive 2006/7/CE, based on simulation of water quality from the last four bathing seasons. Water quality is classified as sufficient, good, or excellent. No proven risk of pollution has been identified.

Risks

Vulnerability to bacterial contamination due to semi-open location where pollutants tend to persist. Urban impermeability near the beach creates significant stormwater runoff and pollution transfer risk. Two sewage pumping stations (VVF and Anse Bonneville 1) are located near the beach. Easterly winds and currents provide some mitigation by dispersing pollutants offshore.
