This bathing water area extends from the end of Porto Bandita to Lido Olimpo in Palermo along Via Messina Marine. The area is characterized by a beach in proximity to residential structures, with increased foot traffic during the summer period. The area is located in a zone of high residential density.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Poor (2019-2024). The bathing area is under a swimming prohibition. No short-term pollution events have been reported. No cyanobacterial proliferation events have been reported despite high anthropogenic pressure in the surrounding area. No macroalgae, phytoplankton, or potentially toxic species proliferation events have been reported.

Risks

The area is subject to a swimming ban. Although the area is in proximity to zones of high anthropogenic pressure, no cyanobacterial or macroalgal blooms have been documented.
