Bacino Grande is a sandy bathing beach located in Porto Cesareo, Lecce province, in the Puglia region of Italy. It is classified as a coastal marine water body. The beach is situated at the southern boundary of the Porto Cesareo-Torre Colimena Marine Protected Area. The area extends 2.092 square kilometers and has been classified as Excellent quality from 2017 to 2020.

Location

Porto Cesareo, Lecce province, Puglia, Italy. The bathing area is located at the southern limit of the Porto Cesareo-Torre Colimena Marine Protected Area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No direct discharges of wastewater into the sea. The only potential punctual pollution source is the mouth of Bacino Grande stream at the eastern boundary of the bathing area. No short-duration pollution events were recorded in the past four years.

Risks

The mouth of Bacino Grande stream at the eastern boundary represents a potential pollution source. No cyanobacterial or algal blooms have been documented. No anomalous situations have occurred.
