Barry Sands stretches from the mouth of Barry Burn on Carnoustie golf links to Buddon Ness, forming a mostly sandy shoreline. Much of the beach lies within the Barry Buddon Army Camp, with public foot access permitted on limited days each month; entry is restricted when red flags are displayed during firing exercises. Visitors are advised to check firing times before entering.
