Benagil is a coastal bathing water on a golden sand beach with restricted use, surrounded by carbonate cliffs rich in marine fossils. The beach is 40 metres long and is also used by fishing boats. The site is associated with sensitive natural systems that present some limitations for bathing use. Tidal range is 3.4 metres with mean wave height of 0.5 metres and predominant northwest wind direction.
