Strandbad Nonnenhorn is a bathing beach located approximately 100 meters from the Nonnenhorn ship dock on Lake Constance. The facility offers swimming in the lake or in a heated outdoor swimming pool with an attached warm hall containing a swimming canal. A children's paddling pool is available. The lawn area provides views across the lake toward the mountains of Austria and Switzerland. Additional amenities include a solarium and water gymnastics classes.

Water

Lake Constance (Bodensee), a natural lake with a water surface area of 536 km². Maximum water depth is 251.14 meters. The mean water level is at 395.23 meters above sea level. Water level fluctuations during the bathing season are less than 0.5 meters. The Rhine provides surface inflow to the lake with a very large catchment area of approximately 11,500 km².

Nonnenhorn, Bavaria. Located approximately 100 meters from the Nonnenhorn ship dock of the Bodensee-Flotte. Parking and kiosk facilities are available.

Water Quality

Classified as excellent (grade 1) in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 under the previous EU Directive. The lake has very good ecological status (ÖZK 1) and is oligotrophic. Mean visibility depth exceeds 2 to 5 meters.

Risks

Storm events may cause sediment resuspension lasting 1 to 3 days. Treibholz (driftwood) accumulations occur with frequency and quantity dependent on water inflow and current direction. The danger of cyanobacteria mass proliferation is rated as low. The danger of macrophytes and filamentous algae proliferation is rated as low. The danger of visible contamination such as tar residues, glass, plastic, or waste is rated as low. The danger of bird droppings is rated as low. The danger of cercariae-related skin rash (swimmer's itch) is rated as low.
