Water Quality

Water quality monitoring was conducted with analysis of bacteriological contamination. The profile includes assessment against Directive 2006/7/CE standards for bathing water quality.

Risks

Potential sources of bacterial contamination identified include collective sewage systems, non-collective sewage systems, stormwater runoff, watercourses, agricultural activities, fishing and pleasure ports, unauthorized anthropic discharges from camper vans, domestic animals, and wild fauna. Macro-algae and phytoplankton proliferation potential were assessed.
