Boulouris beach borders the Mediterranean Sea and is located at the outlet of the Boulouris valley in the Boulouris district of Saint-Raphaël, France. The natural beach is composed of sand, pebbles, and rocks, oriented southeast, extending 120 metres in length and 43 metres in width. A small rocky outcrop to the west of the bathing zone protects water quality from swell. The bathing zone is open with water circulation flowing east to west, resulting in faster water renewal.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as 'Excellent' by ARS (health authority) for years 2008–2013. Based on 121 analyses conducted from May to September, there were 3 exceedances of the Escherichia coli regulatory limit and 1 exceedance of the intestinal enterococci regulatory limit. The water is clear with no particular pollution identified.

Risks

Temporary watercourse outlet of Boulouris discharges directly in the middle of the beach. Wastewater lifting station (PR Santa Monica) located in residential zone near the beach, with capacity 54 m³/h; in case of malfunction or hydraulic overload, effluents may be diverted directly to the beach through an overflow valve. Risk from malfunction is considered low due to station alarm system. No phytoplankton blooms or Ostreopsis spp. blooms recorded.
