Byala Beach Chayka is a small beach strip with fine-grained sand located in the municipality of Byala in northeastern Bulgaria on the Black Sea coast. The beach is in the immediate vicinity of a fishing boat mooring area. It is an unguarded beach with a length of 300 metres and accessible terrain, situated near the town of Byala with access by personal and public transport.

Black Sea. Beach orientation is north-south, open to the east. The beach features quartz sand with insignificant admixture of shell remains from mussels and snails.

Location

Located in the municipality of Byala, Varna Province, northeastern Black Sea coastal region of Bulgaria. The nearest town is Byala. Access is available by personal and public transport to the 300-metre beach.

Facilities

Unguarded beach.

Water Quality

Water quality classification from 2007 to 2021 shows: Excellent (compliant to guide values) in 2007–2012, 2014, and 2021; Good in 2015–2016 and 2019–2020; Sufficient in 2017–2018. Several streams discharge in the vicinity and near the zone, but they are not designated as separate water bodies and no assessment of their ecological and chemical status has been conducted.

Risks

Several streams (deretas) discharge within and near the bathing zone. These watercourses have not been separated into distinct water bodies and have not undergone ecological and chemical status assessment.
