Byrum-Sandvik

Sweden Coastal 3 - Sufficient

Byrum-Sandvik is a large bathing beach located on the western side of Öland in Borgholms municipality, accommodating approximately 200 swimmers per day. The sandy beach extends at least 1500 meters from the guest harbour in the south, with a width of 10–20 meters. Behind the beach are sand dunes with grass vegetation and bushes that increase in size toward the north. The bottom composition transitions from sand in the south to gravel and stones further north. Parts of the beach lie within the Bödakosten western nature reserve, and Öland's distinctive rock formations (raukar) are located just south of the bathing area.
