Cala Bernardu is located on the western coast of Bosa, within the wild promontory of Capo Marrargiu, part of the Site of Community Importance covering the coastal area between Bosa, Capo Marargiu and Porto Tangone. Access is by an unmarked or poorly marked path starting from Su Cuile de Sas Bagassas, involving a steep descent over several hundred meters, or by boat. No facilities are present at the cove.
