Vieste, province of Foggia, Puglia region, Italy. The water body is part of the Vieste-Mattinata coastal system.

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No direct wastewater discharges to sea are present. The potential pollution source identified is the presence of canal mouths (foce di canale). No short-duration pollution events were recorded in the last four years.

Risks

Potential point source of pollution from canal mouths. No cyanobacteria or algae blooms have been characterised. No toxic algal species proliferation has been detected in the last four years.
