Plage du Dellec is a declared bathing water zone located west of Brest Roadstead at the entrance to Brest Inlet in the commune of Plouzané, Finistère. The beach was classified as non-conforming in 1997 with category C status (temporarily polluted waters), but has since maintained category A (good quality) or category B (average quality) classifications. The bathing water profile was updated in October 2020.

Coastal bathing water in an estuary zone (intertidale zone between high and low tide marks) at the entrance of the Brest Inlet.

Location

Commune of Plouzané, Finistère, west of Brest Roadstead at the entrance to Brest Inlet. Part of Brest Métropole territory.

Water Quality

As of 2013, the bathing water was classified as good quality. Water quality is monitored for fecal contamination indicators including E. coli and enterococci. The beach has not shown non-conforming classification since 1997.

Risks

Potential sources of fecal contamination including continuous discharges, wastewater from domestic sources, and agricultural operations. Rainfall and tidal factors influence water quality fluctuations.
