Water Quality

Water quality classified as excellent (EXC) under the 2006 directive for 2008–2011 and as good (A) under the 1976 directive for the same period. Five pollution episodes occurred between 2006 and 2011, defined as exceedances of 1000 E. coli/100 ml and/or 370 enterococci/100 ml. Potential microbiological pollution sources include: Ravine Dizac (wastewater treatment plant overflow, pump station by-pass, or connections) at 0–500 m distance with significant impact; Ravine Anse Bleue and cemetery at 300–450 m with moderate impact; non-compliant non-collective sanitation installations with moderate impact; and the sanitation network (Allées des Turquoises) at 500 m with moderate impact.

Potential microbiological pollution from wastewater treatment plant overflow, pump station by-pass, non-compliant sanitation installations, cemetery drainage, and the sanitation network. Five pollution episodes between 2006 and 2011 exceeded microbial thresholds.
