Étang communal de Tamniès is a bathing water body located in the Dordogne department of Aquitaine, France. The bathing area operates from late June to late August with supervision from 11:00 to 19:00. The site has maintained excellent water quality classification according to EU Directive 2006/7/CE over the period 2013–2016. Average daily attendance during the bathing season is 367 entries, with higher numbers during the peak season of mid-July to mid-August.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (E) for all years 2013–2016 based on five samples per year. Cyanobacteria monitoring conducted from 2012 to 2015 and again in 2016. On 22 June 2016, cyanobacteria count was 219 cells/ml with no toxigenic cyanobacteria and no measured toxins detected.

Risks

Cyanobacteria presence identified as a historical pollution episode from 2012 to 2016, attributed to eutrophication of the aquatic environment. No bathing prohibition was issued for this episode.
