Confolant and Pont du Bouchet are two bathing beaches located on the Fades Besserve reservoir in the commune of Miremont. The bathing profile document provides a comprehensive assessment of water quality, pollution sources, and hydrological characteristics of these beaches. Monitoring includes bacteriological analysis, cyanobacteria surveillance, and evaluation under EU Directives 76/160/CEE and 2006/7/CE. The study was conducted by ATHOS environnement and Université Blaise Pascal in 2012.

Water

The Fades Besserve reservoir is a man-made water body used for bathing, fishing, and other recreational activities.

Location

Confolant and Pont du Bouchet beaches are located on the Fades Besserve reservoir in the commune of Miremont. The study was conducted by ATHOS environnement and Université Blaise Pascal, located at 24 Avenue des Landais, 63171 Aubière Cedex.

Water Quality

Water quality is evaluated according to EU Directive 76/160/CEE and Directive 2006/7/CE. Monitoring includes bacteriological analysis of Escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci, as well as cyanobacteria surveillance. Physical-chemical quality of the reservoir is also assessed.

Risks

Potential pollution sources include wastewater discharge, agricultural runoff, rainwater drainage, non-collective sanitation systems, livestock access, wildlife, and fishing activities. Cyanobacteria proliferation risk is assessed and documented.
