Fiume Natisone - Localita' Stupizza

The Natisone River at Stupizza is a river bathing area located in a narrow valley close to the Slovenian border. The water has a pebble beach and is surrounded by a very small settlement. The river flows through predominantly natural terrain, making it an isolated bathing spot in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.

Pulfero municipality, Udine province, Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Coordinates: 46.200540°N, 13.470207°E. The river flows in a valley near the Slovenian border with minimal nearby development.

Intestinal enterococci 90th percentile: 58 CFU/100 mL, 95th percentile: 94 CFU/100 mL. No significant variations in water quality observed across bathing seasons 2015–2018. No pollution sources identified.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events may occur during unfavourable meteorological conditions such as intense rainfall or drought periods, which can concentrate microbial contamination. No pollution events were recorded during 2015–2018. No cyanobacterial proliferation, macroalgae proliferation, or toxic phytoplankton have been detected.
