Fleetwood beach sits at the top end of the Fylde coastline, facing north into Morecambe Bay. The beach is mainly sandy with a small amount of shingle. It has a gently sloping profile with a slight drop off to the water at high tide.

Risks

As part of the more recent programme of work (2025-2030), United Utilities will plan for improvements to storm tanks at Preesall treatment works and Skippool pumping station.

This bathing water is included in the Surfers Against Sewage “Safer Seas Service”. This service can alert you to Combined Storm Sewer Overflow discharges via a phone App and in addition, it includes the Environment Agency Pollution Risk Forecast warnings where they are available.
