Coastal bathing water area measuring 1253 metres in extension, located at the mouth of Canale dello Stagno (Stagno Channel) between Rio Fiume and Pratica di Mare.

Location

Rome, Lazio region, Italy. The bathing water extends from Rio Fiume to Pratica di Mare. The area is part of the Tevere–Foce watershed basin.

Facilities

Bathing establishment (stabilimento balneare). Rocky and beach structure with equipped areas present.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: elevated. The area is not subject to blooms of potentially toxic macroalgae or microalgae. Shellfish farming is present. No specific monitoring of pollutant concentrations is currently active during the bathing season.

Risks

Urban sewage discharges and nearby urban and industrial areas present potential pollution sources. Short-duration pollution events are still under study for appropriate modelling approaches. Approximately 25 urban treatment plants serving more than 2000 population equivalents operate in Rome.
