The water body is classified as a coastal marine environment within the Foce Varano-Peschici water body. The bathing area has an extent of 0.395 square kilometres. The beach has been classified as excellent quality based on monitoring data from 2017–2020.

Vico del Gargano, Province of Foggia, Puglia region, Italy. The bathing area is located at the mouth of the San Antonino Canal.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No short-duration pollution events have been recorded in the past four years. No blooms of algae or cyanobacteria have been detected.

Risks

The mouth of the San Antonino Canal at the western boundary of the bathing area represents the only potential point source of pollution affecting water quality. No toxic algal strains have been detected. No anomalous situations have been verified.
