Coastal marine water body. The bathing area extends over 0.979 square kilometres and is fed by the Torrente Cervaro, which drains into the Salpi Lake hydrographic basin.

Location

Manfredonia, Province of Foggia, Puglia region. The bathing area is situated at the mouth of Torrente Cervaro, 30 metres to the right of the stream outlet.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No direct wastewater discharges to sea are present. The potential pollution source identified is the mouth of Torrente Cervaro at the southern boundary of the bathing area. No short-duration pollution events were recorded over the preceding four years.

Risks

The mouth of Torrente Cervaro represents a potential point source of pollution. No algal or cyanobacterial blooms have been recorded. No toxic algal proliferation has been detected.
