Location

Vado Ligure, Savona Province, Liguria Region, Italy. The area is managed by the Municipality of Vado Ligure (P.zza S. G. Battista 5, tel 019886350).

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Good (2011-2014). Identified pollution sources include a wastewater treatment plant (Depuratore consortile di Savona), the river mouth, and the port. No special monitoring measures or specific monitoring activities are currently in place.

Risks

The Ligurian Sea is not characterized by cyanobacterial blooms due to prevailing oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strain proliferation have been recorded in the past 4 years.
