The area has 13 active urban wastewater treatment plants with capacity greater than 2000 inhabitants/equivalent serving the reference municipality. No specific monitoring programs are currently active to monitor pollutant concentration and limit their diffusion. Mollusk farming has been identified as a source of impact on bathing water quality.

Short-term pollution events are still under study for an adequate modeling approach. No anomalous situations have been verified. No cyanobacterial proliferation events recorded in the past 4 years.
