Fosso di Perillo is a bathing water area located 50 metres to the right of the main stream, situated on a rocky coastline within the Lago di Varano transitional water body in Puglia, Italy. The water quality has been classified as Excellent based on monitoring data from 2017–2020. The area has not experienced short-duration pollution events in the past four years and is not characterized by algal or cyanobacterial blooms.

Transitional water body (Lago di Varano). Located within the Canale S Francesco hydrographic basin.

Location

Cagnano Varano, Foggia province, Puglia region. The bathing area extends 1.12 km along the coast.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). The potential pollution source is the mouth of Canale Antonino, where the wastewater treatment plant of Carpino discharges. No direct wastewater discharges to sea are present. No short-duration pollution events have been recorded in the past four years.

Risks

No short-duration pollution events recorded in the past four years. The area is not characterized by algal or cyanobacterial blooms. No potentially toxic algal strains have been detected.
