Gleinkersee is a 0.13 km² lake located at the northern edge of the Calcareous Alps, likely fed by underground karst springs. The weak water circulation and sheltered location enable rapid warming of the upper water layers and high water temperatures, which favour bathing but also promote occasional algal blooms.
