Haabneeme is a sandy beach located in Viimsi municipality, Harjumaa county, Estonia, on the coast of Haabneeme Bay in the Gulf of Finland. It is a very popular swimming location for local residents, attracting 500–800 visitors on peak days. The beach has a maximum depth of 1.80 metres and an average depth of 1.50 metres. Water quality is very good, with all water samples from 2010–2014 meeting microbiological standards for bathing water.

Water

Sea water in Haabneeme Bay, part of the Gulf of Finland in the Baltic Sea. Beach length approximately 406 metres. Maximum depth 1.80 metres, average depth 1.50 metres.

Location

Haabneeme village, Viimsi municipality, Harjumaa county, Estonia. A car park is located 50 metres from the water.

Facilities

Lifeguards on duty from 1 June to 31 August. Information board on beach building with water temperature, air temperature, and first aid information. International flag system (green-yellow-red) with two flag poles. Toilet facilities. Waste management with regularly emptied bins and containers.

Season

Official lifeguard season: 1 June to 31 August. Monitoring conducted year-round.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: very good (2011, 2013, 2014) and good (2012). All 30 water samples taken between 2010–2014 met microbiological standards for Escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci as specified in regulations. Quality classified according to EU bathing water directives.
