A sandy beach located in Civitanova Marche in the Marche region, facing the Fosso Castellaro direction. The beach has a seafront of 20 metres and is bordered to the south by the north arm of the port mole. The beach sediments are composed of sand. A sea embankment realignment intervention was completed in June 2018.

Maritime concession offering bar, toilets adapted for disabled access, and lifeguard service during bathing season. Animals are not permitted.

Water Quality

Classified as Excellent in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Classified as Good in 2018. 2015: E. coli 95th percentile 148.7 CFU/100 ml, intestinal enterococci 95th percentile 33.8 CFU/100 ml. 2016: E. coli 95th percentile 174.4 CFU/100 ml, intestinal enterococci 95th percentile 80.6 CFU/100 ml. 2017: E. coli 95th percentile 140.4 CFU/100 ml, intestinal enterococci 95th percentile 60.1 CFU/100 ml. 2018: E. coli 95th percentile 267.8 CFU/100 ml, intestinal enterococci 95th percentile 93.0 CFU/100 ml. Pollution sources include urban wastewater discharge from Civitanova Alta via Fosso Castellaro, heavily diluted during low-flow periods, and 5 stormwater overflow outlets that discharge to sea.

Risks

Five stormwater overflow outlets discharge to sea during heavy rainfall events. Coastal area is densely urbanised.
