Joss Bay is a gently sloping sandy beach about 500 metres long. The beach, backed by chalk cliffs, is popular with surfers.

Risks

The Broadstairs North Foreland storm overflow is offshore 3.5 km to the east. There is also a short sea overflow offshore 750 m to the east. These outfalls are designed to ensure the bathing water is protected.
