Water Quality

Classification for 2025 and 2024: Unclassified. Multiple water quality assessments conducted throughout the bathing season. Cyanobacterial blooms identified as the primary reason for water being unsuitable for bathing on numerous dates. E. coli and enterococci levels monitored; permissible limits are 1000 CFU/100 ml for E. coli and 400 CFU/100 ml for enterococci. Red flag issued on 31 August 2025 due to water contamination from cyanobacteria.

Risks

Cyanobacterial blooms repeatedly identified as a pollution source. Elevated enterococci levels detected on several dates (e.g., 770 CFU/100 ml on 20 August 2025, 1300 CFU/100 ml on 7 August 2025).
