Water Quality

Water quality classification for 2025 is good. Historical classifications: 2024 adequate, 2023 adequate, 2022 good, 2021 good, 2020 excellent, 2019 excellent, 2018 excellent, 2017 excellent, 2016 excellent. Permissible concentration limits: E. coli 1000 CFU/100 ml, Enterococci 400 CFU/100 ml. Cyanobacterial blooms are the primary identified pollution source, occurring frequently during the bathing season.

Risks

Cyanobacterial blooms (zakwit sinic) are recurrent. Red flag currently displayed (as of 31 August 2025) due to cyanobacterial bloom. Mass fish die-offs in connected river systems (Odra) occurred in 2022.
