Water Quality

Water quality is monitored through bacteriological testing by the regional health authority (ARS). Classification follows EU Directive 2006/7/CE criteria. Monitoring data covers the period 2014–2017. Simulation of classification according to Directive 2006/7/CE was performed for the 2017 bathing season.

Risks

The beach is sensitive to green algae strandings. Potential sources of bacterial contamination include agricultural activities, wastewater systems, stormwater discharge networks, and animal access. Macro-debris and jellyfish presence have been documented. Short-term pollution events have been recorded.
