Kernevest is a bathing beach located in the municipality of Saint Philibert in Morbihan, Brittany. The beach is situated in the Mor Bras estuary within a coastal area characterized by Atlantic oceanic and climatic conditions. The site experiences tidal influences and is subject to monitoring for bathing water quality. The beach is used for swimming and recreational activities, and is designated within protected environmental zones including a Natura 2000 site in the Gulf of Morbihan.

Saint Philibert municipality, Morbihan region, Brittany. Kernevest beach is located within the Gulf of Morbihan estuary area.

Water Quality

Bacteriological monitoring was conducted by ARS (health authority) from 2002 to 2010. The site contains records of bacterial concentrations and SEQ-EAU water classification results. Potential contamination sources were identified including collective sanitation systems, non-collective sanitation facilities, rainwater networks, diffuse agricultural and livestock pollution, and accidental pollution sources.

Risks

Potential risks include contamination from collective and non-collective sanitation systems, rainwater discharge, agricultural runoff, and accidental pollution. The beach is subject to hydrodynamic influences from tidal currents and may experience macro-algae and phytoplankton proliferation.
