A sandy and pebbly beach located in Siderno, Calabria, along the Ionian coast. The beach is part of the Siderno–Roccella Jonica water body and features a coastal plain and alluvial fan geomorphology. Sediment grain sizes range from 0.18 to 2 mm. The bathing water has been classified as excellent quality.

Coastal waters. The designated bathing area extends over 1.047 square kilometres. The beach is sandy and pebbly with an alluvial fan and coastal plain morphology.

Location

Siderno, Reggio Calabria Province, Calabria region. The bathing area is situated in front of the Siderno town centre. Access point is at kilometre 106.5 of State Road 106.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: excellent. No specific active measures are currently in place.

Risks

The Vallone San Filippo stream mouth has been identified as a source of pollution. Runoff from urban areas was identified as a short-term pollution event source. No anomalous situations have been recorded. No harmful algal blooms have been recorded in the preceding four years.
