Konnanmonttu is a small lake beach located in Koskenkorva, Ilmajoki, surrounded by deciduous forest. The beach features a sandy shore that slopes gradually into deeper water. The water body is classified as having excellent quality with a visibility depth of 2 metres. The beach has minimal facilities and no organized swimming supervision.

Water

A small lake called Tiililampi within the Kyrönjoen river system. The beach has a sandy and clay bottom with gradual depth increase. Water visibility is 2 metres.

Location

Located in Koskenkorva, Ilmajoki, at Tiilitie 129. The beach is accessible by local road, with a railway and agricultural fields beyond the surrounding forest.

Facilities

Dock, two changing cabins, dry toilet, waste bins, rescue ring. No organized swimming supervision.

Season

Monitoring period is 15 June to 31 August, with one sample taken approximately two weeks before the season begins and three samples during the season.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent. Monitoring results from 2020–2023 show E. coli and Enterococcus levels consistently below or near detection limits. Blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) are not typically present. The quality classification has been excellent for four consecutive years.

Risks

Occasional runoff of sand into the water caused by heavy rainfall. Probability of cyanobacteria occurrence is low. Waterfowl (ducks and gulls) nest in small numbers on the shore. Litter from youth recreational use is minimal.
