Kup. Lanterna is a partially cultivated beach located in Stari Grad on the island of Hvar, Croatia. The beach features a rocky surface with pebbles and stretches 200 metres in length with an average width of 6 metres. It has low and high vegetation and is situated along an indented coastline with moderate underwater slopes. The average sea temperature during the season reaches 23.51°C with salinity ranging from 37 to 39.4 ppt.

Adriatic Sea. Beach length 200 metres, width 6 metres. Average sea temperature 23.51°C during season. Salinity minimum 37 ppt, maximum 39.4 ppt. Tide amplitude 25.1 cm. Coastal and underwater slopes are moderate, between 15 and 25 degrees. Prevailing wind from the north.

Stari Grad, Hvar, Croatia. Coordinates: 43.1831°N, 16.5859°E. No parking available. Access via coastline path.

Facilities

Showers, changing rooms, benches, café bar, fast food, trash cans, auxiliary facilities. Floating safety lines provide beach front protection. Sea buoys present.

Season

Monitoring conducted year-round with annual assessments and four-year final assessment periods from 2009 onwards.

Water Quality

Water quality has been monitored annually since 2009 with 10 samples per year under both Croatian regulation and EU Directive 2006/7/EC. Final assessments cover four-year periods with 40 samples each. Classification ratings include excellent, good, sufficient, and poor categories.
