Water Quality

Water quality is monitored by health authorities (ARS) and the IFREMER surveillance network. The profile identifies potential pollution sources including non-collective sanitation, collective wastewater treatment systems, stormwater discharges, and saltwater infiltration. Measurement campaigns were conducted in July 2010 and October 2011 to assess pollution impacts.

Risks

Potential pollution sources include untreated wastewater discharges from pumping stations, stormwater runoff, and groundwater infiltration. Macroalgae proliferation potential is monitored. Wind conditions and rainfall influence pollution dynamics and water quality variability.
