La Mandia is a bathing water area located 200 metres north of Monopoli in the Puglia region of Italy. It is situated along a coastal cliff (falesia) and is classified as a marine coastal water body. The area is part of the Monopoli-Torre Canne water body within the Torre Egnazia hydrographic basin.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No wastewater treatment plant discharges enter the sea. No river mouths or channels are present that could convey pollutants into the bathing area. No short-term pollution events were recorded in the four years preceding the profile.

Risks

The area is not characterised by cyanobacteria or algae blooms. No cases of potentially toxic algal strain proliferation were detected. No anomalous situations were recorded.
