Water Quality
The bathing water profile for Chaumard identifies chronic and short-term pollution sources affecting water quality. Chronic pollution comes from non-collective wastewater systems (83.1% of bacterial load) and collective treatment systems. Short-term pollution is generated during rainfall events from pasture runoff, agricultural effluent spreading, and urban stormwater runoff. E. coli is used as the indicator organism for bacterial contamination.
