Cala Greca is a bathing area located in the southern part of the island of Lampedusa in the Agrigento province of Sicily. The zone is characterized by a prevalence of cliffs sloping towards the sea. It is situated in an area with very minimal human development and has not reported any events of cyanobacterial proliferation or toxic algae blooms.

Coastal waters. The area is characterized by cliffs degrading into the sea. Coordinates of the bathing zone range from 35.5055-12.5766 to 35.5014-12.5866, with monitoring station coordinates at 35.5031-12.5829.

Location

Located in the southern zone of Lampedusa island, Agrigento province, Sicily. The responsible authority is the Municipality of Lampedusa and Linosa, Via Cameroni, telephone 0922/975901. The bathing area extends 3,000 meters.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2019–2024). No bathing prohibitions are in place. No short-term pollution events have been reported. The area is located near zones with very minimal anthropogenic activity.
